OUTSIDE MOUNT
Mounting Your Shades

STEP 1A – INSIDE MOUNT
The mounting holes are pre-drilled through the headrail.  Start the screws into the mounting holes and tighten until the

Tips of the screws are slightly showing on the top of the headrail.  Hold the shade inside the window frame, placing it where you want it inside the reveal.  If no other treatment is being installed over the shade, place the shade to the front of the window frame even with the front of the window.  The shade should be centered within the window frame.  With the shade properly positioned, push up the headrail allowing the screw tips to leave a small indentation on the window frame.  Now drill the screws all the way into the frame.  If using the continuous loop lift system, position the screws so as not to interfere with the roll or cords.  You may need to angle the screws.

OUTSIDE MOUNT
The outside mount shades are attached to the window frame or wall with the enclosed mounting brackets.  The brackets need to be placed so they do not interfere with the shade’s operating system.  Attach the brackets to the wall or window frame at the desired height (refer to your order height) with the screws provided, making sure the brackets are level with each other.  We recommend placing them at least 3” in from the sides unless you have a continuous loop lift system.  For that system place the brackets so they do not interfere with the roll or cords.  Before screwing to the brackets, be sure that the draw cords move freely.  Adjust the shade on the brackets centering it on the window frame or wall and attach the shade to the brackets with the screws provided

Attaching the cord cleat (standard control)

If you have small children, you should install the cord cleat to keep the control cords out of harm’s way.  Simply mount the cord cleat to the wall or window frame next to the shade with the screws provided.

Note:  Mount the cord cleat at a safe height, taking into account nearby furniture or other objects that the child may climb.  After each use of the shade lift, simply wrap the excess cord around the cleat.  It’s fast, easy and safe.
Attaching the continuous cord loop (clutch roll)

If you have small children, you should install the guide to keep the chain out of harm’s way.  Simply mount the hold down bracket to the side of the window frame id you have an inside mount or on the wall if you have an outside mount.  Do not apply tension to the bead chain control.  The chain should run freely through the chain guide.

Tips of the trade

  • If the shade will not raise or lower:
Make sure the draw cords are not caught under the mounting brackets or screws.
  • If only one side of the shade moves when the cords are pulled:
Make sure the shade is not caught on an obstruction. Such as a window crank, latch, etc.

    Or

One of the draw cords may have come untied, call Draped in Details customer service for assistance.

Care and cleaning
Minimal care and cleaning is needed to maintain the beauty of your shades.

  • Vacuum using minimum suction with power on low.
  • Dust with a soft clean cloth or feather duster

If shades are in need of a more thorough cleaning, then have them professionally cleaned, never immerse the shades in liquid of any kind.
